" Hi All,

I have a 78 Merc 115hp and when I squeeze the bulb, fuel come pouring out of the #2 ( middle) carb. Looking through the front grill of the carb, it looks like gas is spitting out of a small goldish pipe that sticks up from the bottom. Any thoughts or advise on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks! "

"Mike,

The float chamber is flooding, probably due to a sticking needle valve, or a damaged or misadjusted float.

You have to remove the carb and get a rebuild kit to remedy the situation.

" Thank you Tony.

Would you recommend doing all three carbs at the same time? Also, what is a ballpark price for that kit, and is it a doable do it yourself job?

Thanks again!

"Mike,

I would need the mod

"Mike,

I would need the model and serial numbers to correctly identify the carb kits you need. The model stamped on the carburettors would be even better. It is usually on the top surface of the mounting flange.

The kits would run $20-$30 dollars apiece from Sierra, a bit more from Mercury.

You might as well rebuild all three. Frequently, you will find another problem in one of the other carbs.

You can do this job yourself. Just make sure every jet and passage are clean.
