" As a former Crusader dealer, I would say that the 6 cylinder 292 cubic inch engine was somewhat of a strange unit: 7 main bearings, but a good design. My impression was that there was not enough orders for them to continue production. It didn't really fit the present day pleasure boat market, but it did have potential as a commercial engine.

" I was under the impression that the 6 cylinder Crusader block was from the G. M. line. With 7 main bearings was this a block of their own manufacture? My intentions are to use it in an antique style wood runabout that I would like to build. Also, would anyone be able to I.D. the year of this 4.3 V-6 with the serial #62309? Thanks for any further info.JMD "
