"I'm having trouble with a sharp whine in my 1965 Graymarine 4-91 transmission while at low revs in forward. Any ideas? I had the engine re-built 4 years ago and the bearings replaced in the transmission The whine developed about a year and a half later. I would appreciate any information anyone has......

Check engine alignment. Also run engine with
shaft disconnected. Does it disappear when you rev engine up?
