200 v6 overheating on 3cylinders

"Hi guys,great site,just wondering if any one can give me an idea on where to start with this problem.got a shark cat with 2x200hp yamahas(92 model 2stroke)lately buzzer has been going off on port motor as soon as i get over 3600rpm,last time before buzzer went off motor started vibrating something shocking,started it yesterday and after 5mins of ideling buzzer went off again,port motors right hand 3cyl were red hot?im geussing its not the impellor or all 6cylwould be hot wouldnt they?im guessn blockage in that head maybe ,as problem has slowly got worse?ant ideas on where to start and if im on the right track would be greatly appreciated....cheers....TIM"

"thanks justintime,pulled poppet valve cover off today and bit of gunk in cover that i scraped out and cleaned,poppet valve was clean apart from tiny bit were spring goes over,needed pliers to pull valve out of hole..in there tight,is that normal?..tackle the thermostats 2morro,from diagrahm ive got(or wat i can work out)is that there is 2 t stats each side and they are on top of the head(so i dont have to pull head off????) and only one poppet valve...would that be right?...thanks again for any help"

"looks like you were spot on with diagnosis,t stat was shocking on blocked side and side that wasnt overheating wasnt much better but was opening at least.will replace and run once ive got the snapped bolt out of head from t stat cover(had to strike one problem all was going to well)...just wondering if you think the vibration motor made last few times buzzer went off (was shut down immediatly) is a sign of any bigger problem internally???"
