I just purchased a used early
I just purchased a used early 90's BF 90A 4 stroke honda outboard. Motor came with a 4 blade prop. Boat (18' light aluminum) comes up on a plane very easily but only goes about 25 miles/hr full throttle. It also gulps gas (3 gallons to go 5 miles on flat water). I have no idea what pitch this prop is but I suspect it is very low. What is the best way to determine what is the best pitch for speed and fuel efficiency?
Thanks for any imput.
