Convert 175 to 200 hp

I have a 1992 175 Yamaha - I was told this can be increased in power to a 200 or 225hp? by changing the carbies - is this true? Is it complex to change? Rough guess at costings?

"Keith, not worth the money. New carbs, cost prohibitive and even if you threw the money at it, you wouldn't notice much of a difference in performance unless you lie to yourself.

I threw a "ficticious" (spelling?) boat into my prop calculator (21ft, 3500lbs displacement, planing hull)...

200 horse, top speed 46.8mph (ideal conditions), 225 on the same rig, 49.2mph.....

Not even 3 full mph difference - so what is that worth for that little of an increase???

A good tune-up would probably do more than the "refit"....
