"I was out in my jon boat today which has a 2003 Honda 4-stroke 9.9. After about 15 min of runtime it just died suddenly. It would only run at about idle speed reguardless of throttle position and was pulsing (for lack of a better word) in a very rythmic pattern and sounded bogged. like baa-baa-baa-baa. After letting it sit for a few min. it would run perfect (water peeing out and all) for a very little while, then same thing.
I brought it home, drained the fuel and lines, put in fresh gas and some Seafoam, and checked the filter. It fired and ran just fine, but when it got warm, same sudden drop and rythmic pulsing..almost sounds like a rev-limiter in slowmo.
Any ideas?"
