Changing impeller on1999 Honda 50 horse

" After only a couple minutes

" After only a couple minutes my motor is overheating and water is not peeing. Im guessing its impeller?
I've taken the four bolts off, not sure how shift shaft disconnects. I've loosened the two nuts as far as the threads go but it wont drop. The lower housing doesnt look loose. Sounds like this is a simple process but there is something i'm missing.
Help??? "

" Ok i finally figured out how to get the shift shaft disconnected. I have the four bolts off lower housing, but its not dropping. I've tapped it with a mallet to try to jar it but it still seems solidly connected. What am i missing? "

Would like more information on changing the lower unit of my 45 horse power. I have a cracked housing and a spare engine to use the parts from.
Please advise if there are any secrets to changing this part.
