" I have a 1985 Yamaha 9.9 4-s

" I have a 1985 Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke which will start with starting fluid and continues to run as long as I give it throttle, it dies when I let off. Will only restart with starter fluid. The carb has been removed and cleaned. A check for spark revealed a very weak spark. Any suggestions?
Does any one know how to check the powerpack on this unit? "

" I have a similar problem with my Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke. Mine will start and idle, but as soon as I put it in gear it will bog down and stall. To combat this, I have tried to increase the throttle before putting it into gear. When I do this it either stalls before I get it in gear or I get it in gear, but it lurches forward before bogging down and stalling. After several tries I can normally get it to run and it will be fine the rest of the day. Advice? I'm a novice, so any advice would be appreciated. "
 
before tring to start motor .

before tring to start motor . prime fuel bulb . put shift in forward turn throdle 3 or 4 times. back in neutreal. start motor. some engines have a acelerator pump.
