I just acquired a boat with a

I just acquired a boat with an OMC stern drive. The motor was advertised as a 1974 OMC GM straight six. The title office says I also need to title the motor. Previous owner did not need title. Is there any vin/serial number on these motors? I looked and could not find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

The motor does have numbers o

The motor does have numbers on it. Its possible the motor was changed to a car motor. It will not have the numbers on it you need.You need to check with the previous owner to see if it has been changed.Good luck.
