I just acquired a boat with a

I just acquired a boat with an OMC stern drive. The motor was advertised as a 1974 OMC GM straight six. The title office says I also need to title the motor. Previous owner did not need title. Is there any vin/serial number on these motors? I looked and could not find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

That's bizarre. What state is this? If you repower do you have to get a new title? Was it April fools day when you tried to title the boat? Suggest you contact them again. They only need to know that it is an I/O and the fuel is gas. (My belief.)
