I am converting my 1988 bayli

I am converting my 1988 bayliner that had a 305 5.0 Litre to a car engine/ what do I need to change? Can I use a car block and put the marine camin it and heads and intake? will this work or will it be a pooch/ Where can I get a good used marine 305? Any suggestions?

" the blocks are pretty much the same other than you will HAVE to use brass freeze plugs. The crank and rods are fine. Normally the boat version has a flat top piston rather than a dished one so you have a tad more compression to deal with(= horsepower) The cam and all other accessories will work fine. I'm not sure about the chamber size or valve sizes in the heads either. You have to compare the two against each other to get it all right. Short story, yes the car motor will work with a few changes. Why not just buy a 350 and get it over with. Better motor, easier to find parts for..... "
