Honda 40hp not charging

I have a friend that has new 4

I have a friend that has new 40hp motor new 2 years ago and only using it this summer. Over the last month his battery went dead a couple of times and I have checked the terminals while the engine is running but no voltage coming back to the battery. Also since this happened the trim won't work either.
Any thoughts?

"The only fuse I found was 20amp fuse and he is good, I have a voltmeter on the battery and no voltage coming through."
