I have a dead cylinder #1 on

I have a dead cylinder #1 on 4cylinder force 120. It looks like water on spark plug. I changed the head gasket and this didn't help. I did not separate the head cover. Does the head cover carry water? please help thanks Bob

I would say that the head cover is there for water to cool the cylinder head.What does compression show and did you check the head for warpage?
 
It is more than likely a prob

It is more than likely a problem with the exhaust sideplates and/or gaskets.
